What's New in the 2026 GMC Sierra 1500?
The 2026 GMC Sierra 1500 rolls into the new model year with few changes. The first change is that models with the 6.2-liter V8 get a more aggressive exhaust note in the Sport driving mode. Second, the White Frost Tricoat and Thunderstorm Gray paint options are gone; the Clacier White Tricoat and Coastal Dune finishes take their places. Other than that, the new 2026 GMC Sierra 1500 features most of what the previous model year had.

Four Engine Options, Including the Torque-Rich Diesel: With four engine options, rear- or four-wheel drive, and two transmission options, there are many ways to configure the new GMC Sierra 1500. The base 2.7-liter four-cylinder generates 310 horsepower, while the two V8 options offer 355 horsepower and 420 horsepower. The efficient diesel option is the six-cylinder that produces 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque.
